Wales, bordered by England on the east, is a small country with a colourful history and spectacular landscapes, including 3 National Parks and 5 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Sport

Like most of Britain, football and cricket are both popular in Wales, but rugby union is the national sport. The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff is the national stadium for rugby and football matches, and hold up to 75,000 spectators. The Welsh rugby team are hugely successful - they have won the Six Nations 24 times and have qualified for every World Cup.

Food & drink

Wales is a haven for food lovers - in every corner of the country you'll find fantastic local flavours. Sample the fresh cockles with your breakfast, and don't miss the chance to try laverbread - seaweed pancakes fried with bacon.
