Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival

Fancy attending a double award-winning music festival this summer? Then head to Beauly, in the Scottish Highlands from 6-7 August for the seventh annual Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

A festival for all ages, Belladrum brings you music crossing all genres, and performing arts embracing dance, theatre, cabaret & burlesque, comedy, drama, debate and much more. Belladrum’s eclectic line-ups, offbeat performances and all-ages approach have earned it a UK Festival Award, the festival industry’s equivalent of the Oscars.

Topping the bill on Friday 6 August will be Feeder, the Brit Award-nominated alternative rock band from Wales, while Scottish songstress Amy MacDonald headlines on Saturday. Also gracing the main stage over the festival weekend will be Bob Marley’s legendary Wallers, who will be bringing their unforgettable sound to the festival in their first ever visit to the Highlands.

Other festival highlights include Candi Staton, the queen of southern soul; Brighton rock band the Levellers; local heroes Wolfstone and the return of Barra’s Celtic musical magicians The Vatersay Boys. If you love new music, head to the Hothouse stage, where you’ll find headliners The Divine Comedy supported by bands of the moment Stornoway, Erland and the Carnival, Alex Gardner, Egyptian Hip Hop, Young Fathers and Unicorn Kid.

And there’s even more great music on the Grassroots stage, which this year will be hosting the likes of folk legend Dick Gaughan, John Otway and Beth Jeans Houghton. The festival fun doesn’t stop there – keep an eye out for the fantastic comedy, drama and dance performances taking place across the festival weekend.

Don’t expect bog-standard camping accommodation at Belladrum – why not stay in an adventurous tipi, a luscious bell tent, or a quirky yurt, squrt or cloudhouse?

There’s plenty to do at Belladrum, but don’t forget to look around you and take in the beautiful Highland surroundings. And if the city scene is more your thing, you’re not far from the buzzing city of Inverness.
