The Ormiston, a striking red sandstone Edwardian building in the wedge-shaped market square of the town of Melrose houses this small, modern and professional exhibition. Beyond the banners and sentries the corridor arch leads you past the huge figure of centurion Arrius and the Trimontium Stone into the colourful layout of panels, models, cases and photos. There is a 40 minute audio guide telling the story of Romano-native Trimontium, fortress, township, trading-post, amphitheatre and Dere Street bridge.
