The Saltburn Smugglers recreates the Ship Inn as it would have been at the end of the 18thC. A series of authentic room settings using lifelike figures, sound and lighting effects tells the story of smuggling on the Tees Valley coast with particular reference to John Andrew (king of the smugglers), using unique aromas the various contraband brought ashore can be guessed in the final room.
