Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park

Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park was Scotland’s first National Park and is home to 720 square miles of rolling mountains, ancient lochs, sparkling rivers and dense woodland. It’s just over 20 miles north of Glasgow but the tranquillity of the park is worlds away from the bustle...

The park covers four different areas; Loch Lomond, the largest loch in Scotland at 24.5 miles long, dotted with more than 30 islands; the Trossachs, home to wild glens and smaller lochs; Breadalbane, which marks the start of the Scottish Highlands; and Argyll Forest Park, Britain’s first forest park.

The valleys, peaks and forests of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are an adventure seeker’s paradise. You’ll find something to suit every hobby here, from breezy coastal walks and family friendly cycling routes to mountain hikes, wildlife watching, water skiing and of course, golf.

If all that activity hasn’t tired you out, hop on a ferry to Inchcailloch, the largest of Loch Lomond’s islands. Inchcailloch’s history can be traced back thousands of years, and today the island is home to ancient ruins, a nature trail and a tiny campsite.
