The world's top tennis players gather in East Sussex for the traditional Wimbledon curtain-raiser. The AEGON International in Eastbourne is one of the top tennis events in England, attracting professionals eager to get some vital practice on grass.

Tucked away in rural East Sussex, tennis has been played at Eastbourne for 100 years. The courts are only two minutes' walk from the seafront, famous for its three-tier promenade, flowers and the beautifully-restored Pier.

By Road: the main approach roads are the A22 from London, A259 from Hastings and A27 from Brighton.
