Are you mad about moving pictures? Fusing the Brief Encounters and the Animated Encounters film festivals, venues around Bristol's Harbourside play host to the Encounters Short Film & Animation Festival - a highlight in every Bristolian film buff's calendar.
The Animated Encounters and Brief Encounters film festivals were both popular independent film festivals, but their merger in 2006 saw the Encounters Short Film Festival achieve record-breaking levels of success.
Now known internationally, the competitions usually attract more than 1500 entries from countries all over the world. Masterclasses, workshops and interviews with directors, actors and film industry figures complete the programme and, with so much on offer, there's a film for every interest.
