The National Portrait Gallery's prestigious Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize celebrates the best in contemporary portrait photography. The diverse photographic styles, advertising and fine art images are submitted by a range of photographers, from professionals to amateurs and photography students.

The images on show, taken by talented amateurs and professionals, cover a variety of subjects, styles, sizes and moods and are picked by a jury from thousands of hopeful entries. Besides getting widespread public exposure, the winner also takes home £12,000 in prize money, with additional prizes for two runners-up and a special award for photographers under 26.
