Celebrating the music of Scotland, the Scots Fiddle Festival takes over various venues in Edinburgh. Amidst a welter of workshops and masterclasses, the fiddling fun includes concerts, ceilidhs and recitals.
First held in 1996, the festival regularly attracts 3000 fiddle fans - including a healthy contingent of teenagers, proving that this traditional art is alive and kicking and looking to the future.
The festival also features a series of late-night concerts and rousing Scottish country dances - the ceilidh - that take place on both the Friday and Saturday nights. Full programme details announced in September.
