A celebration of a national obsession
Head to the splendid Cardiff Castle from 25-26 September for the fabulously cheesy Great British Cheese Festival.
It’s a celebration of a national obsession and a chance to sample the extraordinary diversity of British cheese from Lincolnshire Poacher to Stinking Bishop. As well as being able to taste countless cheeses you’ll also have the chance to take part in various masterclasses. Why not learn how to make your own cheese, uncork the secrets of wine tasting or learn to pair cheese with cider and perry?
And if you’re not into cheese (unthinkable!) you can always join the Ice Cream Party, a light hearted scientific exploration of Ice Cream with plenty of opportunity to try this delicious dairy delight. You’ll also find all sorts of other fantastic foods at the Best of British Market where artisan producers will be selling mouth-watering treats from pies to pastries. Don’t forget to pick up some local Welsh produce at the True Taste of Wales Market.
If you’re in need of liquid refreshment then head to the Cardiff Arms, the Great British Cheese Festival’s very own pub. Brought to you by the Campaign for Real Ale there are 25 different Real Ales and up to 30 different Real Ciders and Perrys to try.
