Ever wondered where the royal family get their groceries? Or want to know where they shop for clothes? Find out in our guide to shopping like a royal.

They may be the most important people in the kingdom, but even the royal family need to shop. Only the finest will do for our royals, and companies that have been providing goods or services to the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh or the Prince of Wales for at least five years are rewarded with a Royal Warrant – the mark of quality, excellence and recognition.

There are currently around 850 Royal Warrant Holders, ranging from grocers, chemists and jewellers to plumbers, barbers and pest control services. But they all have one thing in common – they all provide the highest standard of service.

It’s unlikely that you’ll bump into the royals in a supermarket when you’re in Britain, but thanks to their Royal Warrants we know that they love groceries from London department store Fortnum and Mason; keep up with the trends in Burberry, Pringle of Scotland and Aquascutum, and buy only the finest jewels from the likes of Asprey and Garrard.

But the royals don’t just like to shop, they give back too. In 1990, the Prince of Wales started Duchy Originals, which uses the Duchy Home Farm on his Highgrove estate to produce food of the highest quality while working in harmony with the environment. Today, the business produces a huge range of organic foods, ranging from cider to hair care, with all the profits going to The Prince’s Charities.

And he didn’t stop there – the Prince also established the Highgrove Shop. His team at Highgrove work with British artisans to create unique products for the home and garden, many of which reflect the personal interests of the Prince. You can see them for yourself at the stores in Highgrove, Bath and Tetbury.
