The Monastery
The Monastery of St. Frances & Gorton Charitable Trust was formed in 1996 to save the magnificent Grade II church and friary buildings that were built by E W Pugin between 1863-1872. The site's architectural and spiritual significance was recognised and placed on 'The Worlds Monuments Fund Watch List' of 100 Most Endangered Sites.
Upon arrival at The Monastery guests will enjoy a fully themed evening commencing with pre dinner drinks in the cloisters, followed by a fully themed gala banquet in the stunning Monastery with entertainment.
A full finale programme will be created making full use of the dramatic spaces within the cloisters and gardens; this could include both indoor and outdoor activities such as music and dance demonstrations from local community groups, pyrotechnics and light shows.
