Greening Tourism

Sustainable Tourism in England is an increasingly important topic for industry and whilst it can proudly boast excellence, such as The Venus Company being announced as Enjoy England’s Award for Excellence Gold Winner for Sustainable Tourism 2009 or the New Forest as being Responsible Travel’s 2007 Sustainable Tourism Destination of the year, there is still lots to be achieved.

More information on VisitBritain’s objective to move sustainable tourism towards being a main stream activity for the English tourism industry can be found within this site.  This includes information on Green Start - the entry level programme and information on how established sustainable businesses can get access to VisitBritain’s breadth of marketing opportunities through being a member of a validated scheme.
