Birmingham is home to many top class museums and art galleries.
Sweet tooths can experience the chocolate delights of Cadbury World, the underwater wonderland of the National Sea Life Centre – the UK’s first and largest inland aquarium, and the newest attraction, Thinktank, Birmingham’s Museum of Science and Discovery.
If you are an art lover, spend your spare time in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. The collections cover fine art and applied arts, as well as local and industrial history. There is an ever-changing programme of temporary exhibitions and its permanent collection includes works by the famous pre-Raphaelites.
There is also an eclectic mix of art elsewhere on offer in the city, from contemporary works at the Ikon Gallery and Waterhall Gallery of Modern Art, to outstanding collections at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts.
