Familiar to many as the  birthplace of The Beatles and the home of Liverpool FC, Liverpool is now attracting attention as European Capital of Culture 2008. Liverpool’s immense cultural offering was key in gaining the award. The city boasts more listed buildings, theatres, museums and galleries than any UK city outside London.
