Amber Valley, the Heart of Derbyshire, has beautiful scenery forming the setting for a superb range of attractions which reflect the history and heritage of the area. These include Kedleston Hall, a National Trust property set in 800 acres of landscaped parkland. The Hall is regarded as one of the most complete works of the Scottish Architect, Robert Adam. Whilst in the spring and early summer, a stunning display of rhododendrons and azaleas great visitors to Lea Gardens. There are also relaxing gardens adjacent to the river at Belper. Or perhaps in complete contrast, you would like to experience fantastic family fun at the American Adventure.
Many attractions give a nostalgic glimpse of an earlier time including Crich Tramway Village, the Midland Railway – Butterley and Heage Windmill. The venues along the National Heritage Corridor® are highlighted at Strutt’s North Mill which is home to the Derwent Valley Visitor Centre. The North Mill is part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. For those who enjoy shopping there is an Individual Factory Shops Trail which includes the superb Visitor Centre at Denby Pottery.
