Marco Pierre White

Marco Pierre White

Marco Pierre White is Britain’s original celebrity chef. He’s also been described as the ‘enfant terrible’ of the UK restaurant scene and the Godfather of modern cooking. Marco was born in Leeds, and was the first British chef to gain 3 Michelin stars, and at the age of 33, the youngest chef in the world to do so.

He’s renowned for his unpredictable temper: flinging a fully laden cheeseboard against a restaurant wall following a disagreement over the proportions of a cheese and stringing up a kitchen junior by his apron before dumping him in a bin being just 2 examples. Marco’s spats with his former protégé Gordon Ramsay and his mentor Albert Roux are also well-documented.

Marco retired from cooking in 1999, and has since become a restaurateur with a number of enterprises all over Britain.
