Countryside heritage
The British countryside is home to literally hundreds of historic properties and gardens, many of which are owned and protected by the National Trust or English Heritage. The two organisations are also responsible for the maintenance and preservations of dozens of special natural habitats such coastlines, woods and forests.
If you have any interest in the outdoors or in Britain’s heritage, their websites will give you a wealth of ideas for historical properties and gardens to visit and beautiful areas to walk, as well as providing information on themed visits, itineraries and suggested days out, all region by region.
