Hope Street
Start your day in Hope Street, which has Liverpool's 2 cathedrals at each end. Make your first stop the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, a unique looking building with a spectacular stained glass roof. At the other end of Hope Street lies Liverpool Cathedral, the largest cathedral in the UK. The awesome architecture and sheer size of the cathedral will bowl you over. And you can even take a trip to the top if you're brave enough.
Albert Dock
The next stop on today's itinerary is the Albert Dock, Liverpool's number 1 visitor attraction, showcasing the best of Liverpool in a World Heritage waterfront setting. The dock includes the largest group of Grade I buildings in the UK. Your children will love playing by the dock, and you can explore the great shops and museums before stopping at one of the docks' great restaurants for lunch.
Yellow Duckmarine
While you're at the Albert Dock, hop on the Yellow Duckmarine, an authentic World War II landing vehicle that will take you around Liverpool in style. Your hour-long trip begins on the road, taking in the historic Waterfront, touring the famous sights of the city, before making a dramatic 'splashdown' into the water in the Salthouse Dock.
Beatles Story
When you're back on dry land, head for the Beatles Story, a must-see attraction that transports you on an enlightening and atmospheric journey into the life, times, culture and music of the Beatles. For the kids, there's an interactive Children's Learning Centre - part of the Beatles Story's commitment to life-long learning and will greatly enhance the visitor experience for both school groups and families.
Cavern Club
If you're still craving more of the Beatles, head into town and visit the Cavern Club, which today is a replica of the original Cavern where the Beatles became famous in the early 60s. It's built on the site of the old Cavern, and half of it is built with the original bricks. Have your photo taken and check out the names of famous bands from all over the world that have played there.
