Bath youth guide

About Bath

Bath is a gorgeous town full of beautiful Georgian architecture dating from the time it was THE place to see and be seen. Today it’s one of the destinations on almost every visitor’s list – and with good reason. When sunlight brightens the honey-coloured stone and buskers and strollers fill the streets and line the river, only the most churlish would deny its charm. If you’re feeling burnt out after a little too much nightlife and want somewhere to relax for a while, Bath has the perfect combination of sights and relaxing options to allow you to recharge.

Once you’ve finished eyeballing past glories, today’s Bath also has restaurants and bars to compete with the best, and a large population of young people thanks to the University, which gives the town a lively atmosphere at night.

Seeing

Must Do

The Roman Baths Museum (www.romanbaths.co.uk) is one of England’s most popular attractions and can get very busy in summer – ideally, visit early on a midweek morning. Allow at least an hour to appreciate it.

Bath is a feast for the eyes. The crowning glory of Georgian Bath is the Royal Crescent, but Queen Square and the Circus are other architectural treats. Don’t miss a stroll over the famous 18th century Pulteney Bridge.

Off The Beaten Track

Take an afternoon to stroll along the river Avon as it weaves out of Bath. It’s relaxing, gets you out into some beautiful countryside and is, of course, free.
