Underground access for mobility, hearing or visually impaired or disabled people
While London's tube system is improving its access for wheelchair users, it can still be problematic for some people. Not all underground stations have wheelchair access, so it's best to check the facilities at the station you want to travel to before you leave.
To see all London underground stations with wheelchair access, visit TfL's tube access guide (www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/transportaccessibility/1169.aspx).
Wheelchair users travel free on all public transport for London and transport staff will make every effort to help make your journey as smooth as possible. Induction loops have been installed at most ticket offices for deaf or hearing impaired passengers.
To assist blind and visually impaired passengers, each platform has tactile strip along its entire length, a safe distance from the platform edge. On board the trains, the name of the station you are arriving at is usually announced as the train pulls into the station and the name of the next station as soon as the train pulls away.
