Stations & facilities
Most railway stations should have basic facilities: toilets, parking, waiting area and refreshments, but keep in mind that some stations are very small, and these might not be available.
Britain's larger railway stations (especially those in London) provide shops, restaurants, banks, tourist information and supermarkets as well as car parks and taxi ranks.
At international railway stations (like Waterloo), you'll find services like Bureau de Change and luggage trolleys. At many of the bigger railway stations, staff are on hand to help you with your luggage.
Look out for Europe's first 'destination station', St Pancras International, opening on 14 November 2007. Not only will it be the London Eurostar terminus, but it will also feature world-class shopping, Europe's longest champagne bar, a fresh daily farmers market and top restaurants and bars.
