Heathrow Terminal 5

Heathrow Terminal 5

The new London Heathrow Terminal 5 opens on Thursday 27 March 2008. Designed to streamline your journey through Heathrow, Terminal 5 will be used exclusively by British Airways.

The opening of Terminal 5 is the first step in the transformation of London Heathrow, the world's biggest international airport. It will minimise the time you spend queuing, walking and waiting, meaning you can concentrate on enjoying your journey.

From 27 March most British Airways flights will be directed to Terminal 5, with a few moving to Terminal 3. The new terminal is at the western end of the airport close to the M25 motorway and only 20 minutes from central London by the fastest rail link.

You'll also find world-class shopping and eating and direct transport links - all in a spectacular building with panoramic views for miles around. Imagine Oxford Street, Bond Street and Knightsbridge, all under one roof. Think designer labels, luxury brands and the very best of the high street - it's a reality at Terminal 5. The exclusive shops and restaurants include Tiffany & Co.'s first European airport store and Gordon Ramsay's first airport restaurant.

As well as traditional staffed check-in desks, Terminal 5 had 96 self-service check-in kiosks to make checking in quicker and easier. Once you've done this, just drop your bags in the Fast Bag Drop and you're ready to go through security - all in a matter of minutes!
