What is Eurostar?

Eurostar

Eurostar is a high-speed train service linking London (St Pancras International) with Paris (Gare du Nord), Lille Europe and Brussels (South station). Trains cross the English Channel via the Channel Tunnel or 'Chunnel' as we often call it.

It's already over 12 years since Eurostar started running its cross-channel train service. At the moment the quickest journey time between London and Paris is 2 hours 15 minutes using the 186mph High-Speed 1 rail line.

St Pancras International opened in November 2007, and is Europe’s first ‘destination station’. Not only is it the London Eurostar terminus, but it also features world-class shopping, Europe's longest champagne bar, a fresh daily farmers market and top restaurants and bars.

Some Eurostar services stop en route at Ashford International and Ebbsfleet International in Kent and at Calais-Fréthun and Lille Europe in northern France in addition to the 3 key destination cities. Eurostar also runs services to Disneyland Paris, to Avignon in summer, and - in the skiing season - to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Aime-la-Plagne and Moutiers in the French Alps. You can connect to one of the main Eurostar stations from over 100 destinations in Europe.
