Hotels in Britain come in all shapes and sizes, from the charming country house hotel with ample grounds and picturesque gardens to impressive modern structures in city centres.

They are often luxuriously appointed, set in their own grounds, and the rooms frequently have special features such as four-poster beds. Some may have leisure facilities like swimming pools or health spas and may be able to arrange country sport activities such as clay pigeon shooting and fishing.
