The village of Onchan is situated to the north of Douglas and is served by a convenient bus service. Onchan Park is directly above the Electric Tram Station and its attractions include boating, tennis, bowls, putting, go-karts and, on selected days, stockcar racing. In old Onchan, past Molly Quirks Glen, is St Peter’s Church in which Captain William Bligh was married to Miss Elizabeth Betham in 1781.
Angling is well catered for with two trout reservoirs, Clypse and Kerrowdhoo, only one mile (1.6 km) from the village. Molly Quirks Glen and Groudle Glen are two beautiful walks not to be missed, taking you from the top end of Onchan village down to the sea. Groudle Glen Miniature Railway is always very popular with children and railway enthusiasts alike.
