Oban has long been the perfect west highland retreat for those wishing to relax, or tour around the nearby islands. At Caithness Glass you can learn the about the skills of glass blowing, or watch kilt making at Geoffrey (Tailor) Ltd. Evening entertainment includes live bands and ceilidhs as well as traditional Scottish shows at McTavish’s kitchens and a varied programme of films and entertainment at the Highland Theatre. To get closer to nature, there is a splendid sandy beach at nearby Ganavan, or you can visit the Oban Rare Breeds Farm Park or explore the Scottish Sealife and Marine Sanctuary.
