Sightseeing & days out

Eden Project

It's hard to know where to start for sightseeing and days out in Britain. You couldn't count (or even imagine) the things you can do and get involved in.

Festivals and carnivals are a good place to start. We celebrate absolutely everything in Britain, so you'll find raucous street parties, sumptuous food fairs or quiet village fêtes every week of the year.

Many events offer the opportunity to really get involved and participate yourself. In Britain we love to 'muck in and get our hands dirty', and at a fabulously fun participatory event or activity – you will too.

Why not take fascinating guided walk. Discover everything from scenic coastal experiences and nature trails to fascinating city walks and underground tunnel explorations.

Country Fairs featuring falconry, field sports, show jumping and clay-pigeon shooting displays are common in rural areas and offer a delightful insight into countryside sports and traditions.

Away from the metropolis, you'll also find frequent air shows, especially during the summer. Transport demonstrations featuring steam trains, boats and the like, are often interactive and fabulous for the little ones.

There are so many adventure theme parks, zoos and safari parks in Britain your family will be left screaming for more.

And don't miss one of our numerous ground-breaking environmental, science or technology attractions. Pioneering biodomes, laser shows and planetariums offer a fascinating insight into the future of all of us.
