Nightlife in Britain

Whether you want a big night out at a superclub, a quiet night in a pub, or a celebrity-filled night in a club with all the trimmings, you'll find it in Britain.

Superclubs

Superclubs are a haven for dance music lovers. In any given superclub in Britain, you'll find a star DJ playing great music till the early hours. Here are some of our favourites:

Ministry of Sound © Britainonview.com

Ministry of Sound, London

This is one of the world's most famous superclubs. Situated in the East End of London, it regularly features some of the world's best DJs, including Pete Tong, Erick Morillo, Deep Dish and Paul Woolford. The club boasts 2 huge dance floors, a Sony Playstation Room and an Absolut Chill Bar.

Cream

Cream/Nation, Liverpool

Cream is one of the biggest names in dance music. Based in the Nation nightclub in Liverpool, it was a weekly house music night from 1992 - 2002. Cream played host to many international DJ superstars, including Paul Oakenfold (who was resident DJ from 1997 - 1999), Paul van Dyk, Sasha and The Chemical Brothers. Cream still holds sell-out events at Nation - at Easter, May Day, October/November and Boxing night (26 December).

Gatecrasher

Gatecrasher, Sheffield / Leeds / Nottingham

This great dance music night happens in 3 cities, and was instrumental in the rise of trance music. It counts legendary DJs Judge Jules, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk and Eddie Halliwell amongst its regulars.

Fabric

Fabric, London

Fabric has become an institution in the London clubbing scene. The resident DJs - Craig Richards, Terry Francis and Ali B - play drum n bass, house, techno and electro through the 3 huge rooms till the early hours of the morning.

Celebrity favourites

Wherever you go in Britain, you're bound to be near a celebrity waterhole. So break into your piggy bank, put your best outfit on and visit these celebrity favourite clubs and keep your eyes peeled for the likes of Princes William and Harry, Kate Moss and Kylie.

Mahiki

Mahiki, London

This sumptuous and exotic tiki bar was voted best bar of the year in 2007, and it's not heard to see why. The no-hassle door policy, beautiful cocktails (the 'Treasure Chest' can be shared by up to 8 people), and great music (surf music and cheesy tunes) is what keeps the likes of Jade Jagger and the Princes coming back.

Paper

Paper, London

If you want to rub shoulders with the likes of Keira Knightly and Jude Law, head to Paper. The DJ plays varied contemporary tunes that'll have you dancing till it's time to stumble out into the waiting paparazzi.
