The Big Sing on 27 June (starts 2pm) in the beautiful Lloyds Amphitheatre at Bristol Harbourside is a first-time free concert, which will see over 500 singers from all over the West Country sing in unison for WaterAid - the charity which brings safe water to the world's poorest people.
Lloyds Amphitheatre is a stunning location for this unique event and for the first time in its 15 years history, the amphitheatre will be used as a natural performance area, with unamplified music, just like the amphitheatres of ancient times.
Modelled on the established London-based Sing for Water at the Thames Festival, the choirs - including some which were formed from scratch specifically to perform at this event - will sing a series of enchanting songs specially chosen for the event.
Two dedicated West Country choir leaders, Ali Orbaum and Chris Samuel, have worked throughout the year to stage the event in Bristol, encouraging the singers to raise funds for the charity through individual sponsorship as well as donations from you guys on the day.
Everyone is welcome to attend this free event and enjoy the remarkable sound of the massed choirs at this sublime fund-raising concert. WaterAid is a renowned and respected international charity so don't forget to pop something in the collection box when you leave.
