Silverstone racing track

Silverstone

Silverstone (www.silverstone.co.uk/html/index.php) racetrack is the home of the British grand prix. Located near the village of Silverstone in Northamptonshire, it was originally a World War II airfield and was the first major racetrack to be opened in Britain. The RAC Grand Prix (now the F1 British Grand Prix (www.silverstone.co.uk/html/ra_f1.php)) was the first event to take place at Silverstone, in 1948, and in 1950, the track held the very first World Championship event.

Brands Hatch

Since it's birth in 1926 as a local bicycle-racing venue, Brands Hatch (www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brands-hatch/) racetrack in Kent has become synonymous with the best of British motor racing. Many famous drivers from the past 50 years have raced and won at Brands Hatch, including Stirling Moss, Jim Clark and Jenson Button. The track now hosts the World Superbike Championship (www.worldsbk.com/home.php) every year, attracting racing fans from all over the world.

Goodwood Revival

Goodwood (www.goodwood.co.uk/) in Chichester, is a historic venue for both car and bike races. The track is set in the land around Goodwood house, a country house, and the seat of the Duke of Richmond. Like Siverstone, Goodwood started life as a World War II airfield. The most popular event staged at Goodwood is the Festival of Speed (www.goodwood.co.uk/fos/), a major annual motor sports event for both classic and contemporary cars, featuring racing, exhibitions and parades.
