Enniskillen

Now turn inland towards Enniskillen – an ideal base for exploring the Fermanagh Lakes with their famous fishing, castles and mansions, including Florence Court with its sumptuous rococo plasterwork and Castle Coole. Ferries operate to White Island, whose seven enigmatic statues still cause controversy.

Downpatrick

To end your tour, travel back towards the coast and head for Downpatrick – St Patrick’s Country. Learn the story of Ireland’s famous patron saint at the visitor centre near his grave at Downpatrick Cathedral, and be enthralled as you explore the many ancient ruins around the town.
