Llanboidy Cheesemakers, Whitland
Take a trip to Whitland in Carmarthenshire to sample the award-winning Llanboidy Cheesemakers (www.llanboidycheese.co.uk/index.html). Llanboidy Cheese has been made on Sue Jones' farm, Cilowen Uchaf, since 1985. The traditional Llanboidy cheeses are made with the unpasteurised milk from Sue's own herd of rare breed Red Poll cows. In 2001, Llanboidy Cheeses took the gold medal at the British Cheese Awards.
The Welsh Venison Centre, Bwlch
The Welsh Venison Centre (www.welshvenisoncentre.com) is in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park close to the village of Bwlch in the beautiful county of Powys. A family-run business, the centre was the first to become accredited as both a farm and processing unit under the Quality Mark for Farmed Venison, rewarding their commitment to high standards of animal welfare and meat processing.
