High School Musical Tour
If you’re coming to Britain with your family this year, here’s something your kids definitely won’t want to miss – the High School Musical tour. The tour is happening at 30 locations all over Britain until December 2008.
Disney’s High School Musical became a worldwide phenomenon when the original film burst onto our screens in 2006. Since then there has been a sequel (and High School Musical 3 is in the making), a sell-out live US tour, a version on ice and a multi-million selling soundtrack.
This year High School Musical is spreading its magic across Britain on its first ever UK theatre tour. Featuring a cast of 34 performers and a live orchestra, this production includes all of the favourite characters and songs from the movie, plus 2 new songs written especially for the stage.
As well as the original tour locations, the production will also be presented at London’s Hammersmith Apollo for 6 weeks from 30 June. This run will perform with an entirely new cast and production designed specifically for the venue. See below for other tour dates and locations.
High School Musical tells the story of Troy, a popular high school basketball star, and Gabriella, a shy and clever newcomer, who discover they share a secret passion for singing which sets them apart from their high school cliques.
When they sign up to audition together for the lead roles in the school musical, the ‘jocks’, ‘brainiacs’ and drama club start hatching plans to keep them off the stage. But Troy and Gabriella take a chance on their dreams and each other, and soon the couple inspire the students to go public with some surprising hidden talents of their own.
