Gay culture in Britain

Awash with rainbow pride, Britain is a nation of excitement, history, talent and understanding. Hell, we’ve even had a gay king (or perhaps we should have called him queen) way back in the 13th century.

The United Kingdom has come a long way since the dark days when homosexuality was considered illegal. The dreaded laws of yesteryear have been banished thanks to the strength of the local gay and lesbian community, and the growth of acceptance amongst our straight supporters.

Modern day British gay society is now one of the most sophisticated, cosmopolitan and pulsating community’s in the world – largely due to the successes and public figures of our past who valued the ‘home’ in homosexuality.

The UK is one of the largest populations  of gay and lesbian folk in Europe, we also have equal age of consent laws (set at 16), partnership laws and even legal commitment ceremonies in some of our major cities. As for marriage, it’ll just be a matter of time!

So whether you're gay, lesbian, transsexual, Bi-sexual, in or out, be yourself in Britain!
