Night-time in Liverpool

FACT exhibition centre

Entertainment

Liverpool’s newest attraction is both a daytime and night-time venue for cutting edge entertainment. By day, the FACT Centre (Wood Street) is an idyll for art lovers and media students. By night it comes into its own as a contemporary cinema and trendy bar. Three state of the art cinema screens show quality mainstream movies, independent, foreign language and art house films.

If you fancy a more cosy and personal setting, try to catch a movie in The Box – a unique ‘sofa cinema’.  After the movie you can stop off in the bar and argue the finer details of plot structure over a beer.

Scousers are as famous for their humour as they are for music and football. Ken Dodd, Kenny Everett and Leonard Rossiter are just a tiny sample of comedy genius to emanate from Liverpool. The top three clubs in the city are Rawhide (in Grand Central, Renshaw Street), Superfly (Kirklands, Hardman Street) and the Laughterhouse (the Slaughterhouse, Fenwick Street). All offer a top quality range of humour, which culminates in the annual Liverpool Comedy Festival every July.
