Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride and Prejudice) and James McAvoy (The Last King of Scotland, Becoming Jane), two of Britain's hottest new actors star in Atonement, the upcoming adaptation of the acclaimed novel by Ian McEwan by Pride and Prejudice director; Joe Wright.

Atonement is the type of British film that makes you remember how good films can be and perfectly recaptures the short haircuts, stiff upper lips and social formalities of the time. Set in wartime Britain; the two leads star as lovers who cross the forbidden class barrier. They become victims of the mistaken accusations of a young girl, which dramatically changes the course of all their lives and the subsequent journey of identity, love and redemption.

One of the key locations in the film is the beautiful, grandiose Victorian mansion Stokesay Court in Shropshire (www.shropshiretourism.info/shropshire-news/newsstory.cfm?newsID=118), which acts as the setting for the unfolding drama and plays significant roll in the film.

Victorian mansion Stokesay Court (www.stokesaycourt.com/) in Shropshire will host 'Atonement' themed tours later this year and, if you're looking for even more nostalgia in Shropshire, check out the National Museum of British Popular Culture (www.lolc.org.uk/), Britain's largest collection of 20th Century memorabilia.

Other locations include St John's Church (www.sjss.org.uk/) and Great Scotland Yard in London, even more impressively is the incredible, full-scale transformation of Redcar Beach in Teeside into the French landing beaches during the Dunkirk Invasion.

The massive scene required over 1,000 local extras to recreate the historic event and provides one of the longest continuous shots in film history.

Check out this clip on YouTube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgSaI-IK1nM&mode=related&search) taken by one of the local extras and showing the details and scale needed to create the scene.

Atonement will be released from September. Find out more and view the trailer at Working Title (www.workingtitlefilms.com/film.php?filmID=104).
