Cricket at Lords is played under the watchful eye of Old Father Time and the Egg & Bacon brigade - if this sounds cryptic to you, Old Father Time is the weather vane that sits on top of the grandstand, and the Egg & Bacon brigade are the Lords members, who's red and yellow ties are the same colour as a plate of eggs & bacon!

Lord's is the home of cricket and holds a special place in the heart of all international cricketers who play there. It's been many a cricketer's dream to have their name mentioned on the honour board for scoring a century or taking 5 wickets in an innings.

It's also the setting for the state-of-the-art Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Indoor Cricket School, the unrivalled MCC Library and the world - famous MCC Museum - where exhibits include the Wisden Trophy and, of course, the Ashes urn, the holy grail of cricket trophies.

Above all, Lord's is the setting for some of the best cricket in the world. It hosts Npower Test matches and 1-day internationals, plus most of Middlesex Cricket Club's home games, some historic fixtures (such as Oxford v Cambridge) and a number of village and club finals.

A moment to savour at Lord's Cricket Ground, St. John's Wood, London

It's not just cricket legends that get to play at this historic ground - you can too. Why not book a net coaching session at the MCC Cricket School, or just play there with friends? The school has produced some of the world's best cricketers, including Ian Botham, Martin Crowe and Angus Fraser. You can also take a closer look around Lord's with a Lords Stadium tour (www.lords.org/lords-ground/tours/). You'll get to see the Long Room, the honours boards, the Ashes urn, and much more.
