Totals for Day: 15 miles (24 km)
North Queensferry
The Fife Coastal Path starts in the centre of North Queensferry, at the Waterloo Well, and passes under a viaduct of the Forth Railway Bridge. The town's name comes from Queen Margaret (Saint Margaret), who established the community as an important ferry port for pilgrims on their way to St Andrews. Visit the Forth Bridge, once regarded as the eighth wonder of the world.
Kinghorn
The small harbour town of Kinghorn is your next stop on the path. The town was once home to Kinghorn Castle, where King Alexander III lived until his untimely death in the 13th century. Although the castle is no longer there, there are memorials to King Alexander, including once on the roadside where he fell to his death.
