คำแนะนำและความปลอดภัยในการเดินทางด้วยรถไฟ
Here are a few tips when travelling by train in Britain:
- Smoking is not allowed on any UK train.
- If you need any assistance, National Rail representatives should always be happy to help.
- Don't keep luggage in aisles or pathways, use the storage areas above the seats and at each end of the carriages.
- Don't leave your luggage unattended; this causes security alerts and delays.
- If you have booked your seat in advance, make sure you are sitting in the right seat. There should be a seat number on your ticket.
- If you haven't booked a seat, make sure you are sitting in a free (unbooked) seat. Booked seats should display a ticket indicating they are booked.
- Certain areas or seats are designated for elderly people or people with disabilities. You can use these areas provided they're not needed by any of the people they're designated for throughout your journey.
- Britain is famous for queuing in an orderly fashion. It's a good idea to respect this tradition.
- Make sure you buy your ticket before boarding. You shouldn't board without a ticket.
- Make sure you're not sitting in a first class carriage if you have a standard class ticket, you may have to pay a penalty.
- Some carriages are 'noise free' and you can't use a mobile phone or listen to a personal stereo. Check you're in a normal carriage if you wish to use these.
