รถไฟยูโรสตาร์คืออะไร
Eurostar is a high-speed train service linking London (Waterloo station) and Ashford (Kent) with Paris (Gare du Nord) and Brussels (South station). Trains cross the English Channel via the Channel Tunnel or 'Chunnel' as we often call it.
It's already over 12 years since Eurostar started running its cross-channel train service. At the moment the quickest journey time between London and Paris is 2 hours 35 minutes. However, come 14 November 2007 this will go down to 2 hours 15 minutes when Eurostar move their London terminus from Waterloo to St Pancras International.
Developing St Pancras International has been a huge project and the new station promises to be Europe's first 'destination station'. Not only will it be the London Eurostar terminus, but it will also feature world-class shopping, Europe's longest champagne bar, a fresh daily farmers market and top restaurants and bars.
Some Eurostar services stop en route at Ashford International in Kent and at Calais-Fréthun and Lille in northern France in addition to the 3 key destination cities. Eurostar also runs services to Disneyland Paris, to Avignon in summer, and - in the skiing season - to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Aime-la-Plagne and Moutiers in the French Alps. You can connect to one of the main Eurostar stations from over 100 destinations in Europe.
