Taste Festivals 2008

Britain's most exciting restaurant, food and drink festivals are back this summer, and if you're a food lover, you won't want to miss them! The Taste Festivals are a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the best restaurants and chefs in the country.

There are 5 festivals happening this year in London, Edinburgh, Leeds, Bath and Birmingham, and each festival reflects the talent and diversity of each city's culinary scene. The festivals are happening from 29 May - 13 July, and tickets are on sale now.

Taste Festival dish Taste of Edinburgh, The Meadows
When: Thursday 29 May - Sunday 1 June 2008
After the great success of last year's first ever Taste of Edinburgh, the festival is returning with a bigger line-up featuring the stars of Scotland's culinary scene. Expect to see 2 of Scotland's Michelin-starred chefs, Martin Wishart and Andrew Fairlie, as well as multi award-winning restaurants David Bann, The Tower, and Duck's at Le Marché Noir.

Taste of Leeds, Millennium Square
When: Thursday 5 - Sunday 8 June 2008
Launching in the North of England for the first time, Taste of Leeds promises a fantastic line-up of leading restaurants and bars offering the very best food and drink from Leeds. You'll see Harvey Nichols, The Star Inn at Harome, Casa Mia Grande and Anthony's Restaurant. The city's legendary bar scene will also be represented, and there will be champagne and cocktail creations for you to try.

Taste Festival dish Taste of London, Regent's Park
When: Thursday 19 - Sunday 22 June 2008
Taste of London is now in its 5th year, and has recently been nominated by Time Magazine as one of the world's top food festivals. Taste of London is where the city's most acclaimed restaurants including Le Gavroche, Café Anglais, Benares and Tom's Kitchen join together to serve their fabulous signature dishes to over 45,000 guests. Celebrated chefs such as Theo Randall, Aiden Byrne and Pascal Aussignac among others will also be participating.

There will also be over 100 food and drink stalls, and the luxury train operator Orient-Express will be showcasing its fine food and drink. For the first time, Taste of London will also have an international flavour this year. Taste of China will play host to 4 Chinese restaurants including China Tang and Kai, and you can expect cooking demonstrations from top Chinese chefs, tea and Chinese lifestyle talks and dim sum and noodle demonstrations.

Taste of Bath, Royal Victoria Park
When: Thursday 3 - Sunday 6 July 2008
The beautiful surroundings of Royal Victoria Park will host Taste of Bath for the 2nd year. 15 of the region's best restaurants will top the bill, including The Bath Priory Hotel & Restaurant, Lucknam Park, Hole in the Wall and the Dower House at the Royal Crescent Hotel. There will also be more than 100 stalls featuring the South West's best produce.

Taste of Birmingham, Cannon Hill Park
When: Thursday 10 - Sunday 13 July 2008
This year's Taste of Birmingham will showcase a diverse selection of top restaurants from around the Heart of England, including the Michelin-starred Simpsons and neighbouring restaurants from Ludlow - a town often described as a centre for some of the best food and drink in Britain. There's also plenty to keep drink buffs busy - look out for Bordeaux Wines, Pimms No.1 and the Laurent-Perrier Champagne Bar.
