Accessible accommodation

There are many accessible accommodation options for visitors to choose from in the UK. From chic city centre hotels to spa experiences and eco-friendly retreats, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

All of the UK’s regional tourist boards provide information about disabled access in their accommodation and sightseeing guides. The National Accessible Scheme (NAS) rates the accessibility of accommodation in Britain and it’s worth checking before that the accommodation to see where has been awarded a certificate.

Helpful tips for choosing accommodation

If you’re struggling to choose accommodation for the duration of your Great Britain stay, NAS will give you the information you need to make an educated decision. The NAS covers three types of impairments: mobility, hearing and visual. Assessed properties will have facilities such as hand rails, ramps, hearing loops and colour contrast to name a few.

The Tourism for All Travel Planner lists all current NAS members and includes their ratings.
