Bristol County Ground

Set in the Ashley Down area of Bristol, Gloucestershire, Bristol County Ground (also known as the Brightside Ground) was established in 1870. One of its founding members was WG Grace, one of England’s greatest and most influential cricketers. The Brightside Ground regularly host domestic and international level T20 matches.

    Spanning the Avon Gorge, a visit to the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, is a must while in Bristol. The views are unbeatable and its Visitor Centre tells the fascinating story of the bridge and the people who worked on it. Admire another masterpiece of British engineer Isombard Kingdom Brunel and visit the SS Great Britain, the ground-breaking steam ship that’s now a museum moored at Bristol City Docks.     Getting to Bristol County Ground

    By rail: The closest mainline train station to the Brightside Ground is Temple Meads, which has good connections to the rest of the country.  From there, catch the 17, 70/71, 72, 73, 75, 76 or T2 bus services that stop near to the ground’s entrance.

    By car: The Brightside Ground is a short distance from the M32. Drivers from the south west and the Midlands can get here via the M5. If you’re coming from London or Cardiff, the M4 takes you directly to Bristol where you can pick up the M32. There is minimal parking around the ground so it’s best to travel by public transport.

    By air: Bristol Airport is eight miles southwest of the city. It serves as a great gateway destination for other host grounds in the World Cup including Cardiff and Taunton.
