Peak District National Park Experiences

Right in the heart of England, the Peak District is the original National Park; where wildly unique and contrasting landscapes sit side-by-side and the most resplendent historic houses and stately homes in the country can be found. Get caught up in the vibrant customs of the tight-knit communities, discover the wild and exposed moorlands of the northerly Dark Peak and the gently rolling limestone plateaus of the White Peaks in the south. Peek behind the doors of Chatworth House of Downton Abbey fame and pay homage to the rebellious ramblers of the 1932 Kinder Mass Trespass. Imprisoned for protesting on the moors for the right to have open access, their protest eventually led to legislation establishing the UK National Parks we have today.

Plague Villages

Discover the fascinating history of the Plague Village of Eyam set amidst the beautiful hills and dales of the Peak District National Park. Today you can explore the unique story by delving inside the historic parish church and visiting locations such as Mompesson's Well, the Riley Graves and the Boundary Stone. Stop for lunch at either a traditional Peak District pub or at a unique farmhouse kitchen which serves up home-made Afro-Caribbean food then continue the tour in the picturesque village of Hathersage where you can step into the pages of Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre. The tour finishes with the option of a short walk at one of Derbyshire’s most iconic viewpoints in the ‘Dark Peak’ region of this beautiful National Park.
