Initially opened by Charles Saatchi in 1985 to display his vast collection of contemporary art, the Saatchi Gallery moved to its current location in the Duke of York HQ building on King’s Road, Chelsea, in 2008.
The immersive exhibition space regularly hosts contemporary art and other displays, providing a platform for young artists and those from the international scene whose work is rarely exhibited in Britain.
Entry to the gallery is free but there will be an entry fee for special exhibitions, such as Tutankhamun: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, which runs until 3 May 2020. The exhibition features more than 150 artefacts from the young King’s tomb, many of which are being displayed outside of Egypt for the first time.
