VisitBritain has launched a dedicated media website where English language journalists can download all the tourism agency’s latest press materials and images on the world class attractions, sights, events and festivals on offer across the UK.

The website has been developed in time for upcoming land-mark events such as The Ryder Cup being held in Wales this October and the much anticipated 2012 Olympics. An Arabic language version of the media portal is also due to be launched before the end of the year.

“This new website has been developed specifically for the media to assist them in being able to quickly access all the information they need to create well informed and illustrated articles for print, online, television and radio features,” said Carol Maddison, UAE Manager, VisitBritain.

“We are expecting growing interest from the world’s media in the run up to and during major international events such as the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games: the website is intended to act as a first port of call for all journalists looking to cover these events,” Maddison added.

Registering on the site allows media instant access to the most up-to-date and archive press releases, story ideas, photographs, videos and media contacts across the world, as well as links to VisitBritain’s Facebook, You Tube and Twitter pages.
