The Tate Modern is Britain’s national museum of modern and contemporary art. London’s largest modern art space, the free museum is spread over 7 floors of a former power station on the banks of The Thames in Southwark.
The giant industrial building provides the perfect canvas for the amazing works on display from artists such as Cezanne, Bonnard, Matisse, Rothko, Dali and Ai Weiwei.
Opening in June 2016, the Switch House is an exciting new 10-storey extension to the museum, designed by renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron. Appearing like a twisted pyramid, the remarkable new space will house three gallery levels, a panoramic roof terrace, a performance space and over 800 new art works across many innovative forms.
Entry to the museum is free but there will be an entry free for special exhibitions.
