Go on a food adventure in Britain with our interactive map of regional and national specialties. Hover over each section to learn more about each mouth-watering bite and see where you can try it for yourself!

Here's a sample of the regional delicacies mentioned on our map:

Haggis

Scotland’s national dish conjures great curiosity. Served with neeps and tatties and usually a Scotch whiskey, it’s the traditional meal of Burns Night. Try the Arcade Haggis and Whiskey House in Edinburgh.

Glamorgan Sausage

This Welsh vegetarian sausage is undeniably delicious. The Caerphilly cheese and leek variety is the classic choice and is perfect at breakfast or brunch. Try some in Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan on a Loving Welsh Food tour.

Welsh Cakes

Sometimes called bakestones, these sweet little cakes are the perfect teatime treat. Maddocks’ Tea Room near Swansea offers a gift box of twenty cakes. Try their whisky-flavoured Welsh cakes, made with Penderyn single malt.

Shortbread

One of Britain’s greatest biscuits, no trip Scotland is complete without bringing home a box. Campbell’s in the small highland village of Callander is the internationally famous bakery that has been producing shortbread since 1830.

Caerphilly Cheese

A crumbly white cheese from South Wales, Caerphilly’s cheese is as popular as its castle. The Big Cheese Festival is set for the end of July in 2019, so be sure to find its celebrated cheese market.

Welsh Rarebit

Want the world’s best cheese on toast? Try Welsh rarebit. It’s a savoury mixture of melted cheese and ingredients, such as ale, mustard, and pepper on toasted bread. Try some at Madame Fromage, a cheese shop and restaurant in Cardiff.

Arbroath Smokies

An Arbroath Smokie is line-caught haddock, salted and then smoked-cured over oak chips to create its rich smoky flavour. You will find these Smokies in family-run smokehouses around Arbroath Harbour.

Scottish Tablet

Set your sweet tooth free with some flavoursome, creamy Tablet – fudge’s crumbly cousin. Border Tablet in Langholm is a renowned artisan producer of traditional handmade Scottish Tablet and has a delicious range of flavours.
