Shopping at Fortnum & Mason’s flagship London store

Since it was founded in 1707, Fortnum & Mason has supplied goods to royalty and celebrities, from the Earl of Egremont at the end of the Napoleonic Wars to King George V’s Jubilee in 1935. Charles Dickens even noted the prevalence of Fortnum & Mason hampers at exclusive social season events such as Epsom Derby, Henley and Wimbledon. It’s unlikely you’ll have room in your suitcase for one of Fortnum & Mason’s famous Tea Hampers, but do make time for afternoon tea here; Fortnums has been selling tea for over 300 years, so it’s safe to say they really know their stuff.
